The city is Istanbul
The synergy is 7

Mevlana Rumi said...
COME, COME, WHOEVER YOU ARE, HOWEVER YOU ARE, JUST COME!
Turkey's national slogan is...
PEACE AT HOME, PEACE IN THE WORLD.
And...
ALL WE ARE SAYING IS GIVE PEACE A CHANCE!

Above is the corporate logo for Istanbul7 and Rainbow Bridge symbolising the existing grey, the 7 rainbow colours, a figure embracing the Bosphorus as a 7 and a world within a world.

Why Istanbul7?
Because the city is Istanbul and there already exists a synergy with 7

I first visited Turkey in 1988 with a rock band entertaining the troops while touring USA military bases. The experience of leading to Sweet Home Alabama in Sinop was not entirely positive. This perhaps had something to do with sharing a Ford Transit van with a guitar, bass and drummer, sound and light equipment and arriving in Turkiye at the end of a 2 month trip through France, Sardinia, Corsica, Italy and Greece interspersed with the US military en route.

In the mid 90's returned leading to a first trip on the Bosphorus. My viewpoint of an entire country changed from that moment on. It became quite obvious that Turkiye held major locational, cultural and historical significance for the East, the West and the wider world. However, much of the potential of Turkiye was not being presented. A picture paints a thousand words and all that, so.......

NPP aim to promote the location and greater awareness of Turkey, or rather Turkiye as it is called in Turkish; a country and people so important to us all if we but realised it. Should Turkiye ever fail, it will be for the worse for us all.

Thus, NPP propose to the Turkish nation and the world the Rainbow Bridge Peace Project: the implementation of the 7 rainbow colours upon the 7 grey concrete panels spanning the underside of the Bosphorus bridge. It will enact the 7 synergy creating a simple and effective marketing tool for Turkiye.

If you can understand the benefits of such a project and would like to voice your support, please do so within the NPP Forum; by sending a quote of support to NPP; by writing to...
The President of the Turkish Republic
The President of the Republic of Turkey
Cankaya Kosku
Ankara 06100
Turkiye

The President does not have the authority to implement the project, but he can gauge public opinion and the project would be benefit with his agreement.

Below is the more painterly Rainbow Bridge logo...

NPP propose 7 coloured pigments upon the underside of 7 grey steel panels of a bridge. The city in question is Istanbul and as we recognise a synergy with 7 by which Turkiye can send out a positive message to the 7 continents of the world.

How close are we to succeeding?
We did have German Chemical Company BASF as sponsor for nearly 2 years. They offered to sponsor all necessary paint and consultation and in conjunction with NPP submitted the necessary protocol to the Turkish government and The 17th Regional Highway Patrol Authority. We are told Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan has been briefed. The Ministry of Public Works & Settlements was apparently supportive, but the Highway Authority delivered us a letter of rejection and later announced to the press the bridge will remain grey.
BASF retreated their position due to a restructuring policy directed from German HQ. However, the support of a multi-billion dollar corporation illustrated some serious intent on the part of a serious organisation. NPP continue to predict RB can one day create a fabulous inspiration for millions of people.

It really is up to the Turkish people, while the international community can only express its own thoughts on the subject. Denying the project in effect denies Turkiye of $millions of international PR and income. NPP view the rainbow colours as the colours of nature and of the universe. Just as one example of collaboration, NPP recommend inviting California to embrace the project since their Golden Gate Bridge was named after Istanbul's Golden Horn Halic. The international collaborations and benefits are endless.

The Rainbow Bridge Project

An International Peace Project for Istanbul's Bosphorus Bridge
NPP concieved the concept of Rainbow Bridge (RB) c. 1997-99. There are 7 concrete panels spanning the underneath of the Bosphorus Bridge just waiting to be brightened up by 7 peaceful rainbow colours. The more the idea was researched more obvious it became that 7 rainbow colours would be alot more fun than grey!

Istanbul? Yeah!

In 1999, NPP staged the first ever contemporary art exhibition within the Kapalicarsi ‘Grand Bazaar’ in conjunction with Adnan & Hasan of Halicilar Caddesi. NPP painted the pictures, produced the posters, leaflets, brochures and books and created the exhibition, concept and brand...
